Before the family was formed, God charged Adam to cover and to protect the garden. It was Adam’s responsibility to “dress” the home. The word “dress” means “to serve”. Adam was to serve the house as He served and honored God. Adam was tasked by God to ensure the affairs of the household were taken care of. At that point, the garden of Eden was the only economy in existence. God gave Adam the charge to serve and to tend to Adam’s economy. God placed Adam as the head to serve, lead and to produce in the garden — economic leadership and governance starts in the garden. God gave Adam the Authority to rule within the confines of His Word. When man‘s actions are in line with God’s Word, his steps and path are ordered by the Lord.
